We are looking for an experienced Carpenter with a minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience, who is also competent in general building work. The ideal candidate must be reliable, skilled in carpentry and formwork, able to assist with broader construction tasks, and willing to learn and take on increasing responsibility over time. 

Carpentry Duties 

Construct, install, and repair:

• Roof structures (trusses, purlins, rafters) 

• Door and window frames 

• Formwork for concrete works 

• Ceilings, skirtings, and basic joinery 
  

● Measure, cut, and assemble timber accurately 

● Interpret basic drawings and specifications 

General Building Duties 

● Assist with bricklaying and block work 

● Mix and place concrete for slabs, beams, and columns 

● Plastering, screeding, and rendering 

● Support site setting out and basic measurements 

● Work alongside other artisans and labourers as required 

Site & Safety Responsibilities 

● Ensure work is completed to quality standards 

● Maintain a clean and safe working environment 

● Properly use and care for tools and equipment 

● Follow health and safety regulations on site 

● Report material needs and site issues to management 

Essential:

• At least 3 years of experience as a Carpenter or Carpenter/Builder

• Strong practical carpentry skills (formwork, roofing, frames)

• Working knowledge of general building methods used in Zimbabwe

• Ability to work independently and in a team

• Willingness to learn, improve skills, and grow with the company

• Good workmanship, time management, and reliability

• Physically fit for construction site work

• Basic communication skills in English and/or local languages

Desirable:

• Carpentry or construction-related certificate/apprenticeship

• Experience in residential housing projects

• Ability to lead or supervise assistants

• Experience with steel roofing and ceiling installations
